Sara Steele lives and works in Philadelphia. She draws inspiration from her travels, evident in large-scale landscapes of the Pacific and New England coasts, the Hawaiian and Canary Islands, the American Southwest desert and beyond.

Her close observations of the natural world are revealed in her numinous florals as well as in her abstract work. She would be best described as a colorist and an expressionist painter.
